Guests at a hotel in the Georgetown area of Washington are being allowed to return to the building after they were evacuated for more than two hours because of a bomb threat.
In a statement, Marriott says authorities gave the all clear at the Marriott Washington Georgetown about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. District of Columbia police spokeswoman Alice Kim confirms that the situation has been cleared and no hazardous materials were found.
Marriott says authorities advised guests to evacuate the 470-room and suite hotel after the threat was called in. Marriott says guests were moved to a sister property nearby until they got the all clear a few hours later.
The street where the 470-room and suite hotel is located was closed but has reopened.
