Greece: railway strikes from June 28

Тhe association of railway employees of Greece on June 28 have begun protesting against the privatization of railways. The protest will end on July 6, reports RIA Novosti .

The railway employees are against privatization of TrainOSE, the Greek railways’ company, and ROSCO, railways’ renovation and support company. The second phase of the competition will be held on July 6, during which the companies will introduce proposals of the purchase.

 

The series of strikes begins on June 28. Many routes will be canceled from 5:00 am to midnight. Many suburban trains will not function. Though, the metro and the public transport will continue working on the usual schedule. On July 1-4, the protest will “take a break”.
