Beach or Pool?

Comment célébrer le 150e anniversaire du Canada?

As the nights grow longer and the days chillier, what better daydream than to think about a holiday in the sun? Here at Vision we’ve reserved a spot for you on the perfect beach or beside a spectacular freeform pool or private plungepool…in one of several islands which are just a little “off the beaten path”. To help you decide which tropical paradise will suit your personality, here’s a little insight into some of our favourite corners of the Caribbean:

jade-mountainSt. Lucia
Regularly named one of the most romantic islands in the Caribbean, St. Lucia combines dramatic, lush and steep mountains with a gentle creole culture. It’s a great just-the-two-of-you destination: tour the island on a rollicking jeep tour, take in some two-some spa treatments, and admire the famed Pitons – twin peaks so famous they’re on the island’s flag – from the deck of a cocktail cruise boat or a private yacht. For the ultimate in romance, check out the ultra-romantic Jade Mountain Resort!

Turks & Caicos Islands
Who and who? Though they came onto the tourism scene about 20 years ago, these sun-soaked, sleepy islands have still to make it to the big time (and that suits them just fine). Located at the end of the island chain of the Bahamas, the TCI, as the locals call them, are seven islands rimmed by sugary white sand beaches and floating in brilliant turquoise waters. Provo is the main island and home to the vast majority of hotels and restaurants. No theme parks, no malls, no casinos: here the main draw is the spectacular beach scene including the famed 18 km Grace Bay Beach. There are a couple of all inclusives and a good choice of rental condos and villas to choose from: perfect for an away-from-it-all holiday for couples or families.

Curaçao
A bit of Holland, a bit of North America makes for a delightful sunny holiday here in the southern Caribbean. Curaçao still has cultural and historic ties to Holland, easily seen in the Dutch-style architecture and heard on the streets – though keep your ears open for papiemento, the local dialect. Some three dozen beaches, a wildly cosmopolitan dining scene (from food truck to fabulous), several casinos and the multi-cultural vibe make for an upscale and comfortable holiday!
