Italy: strike updates for April 21

Italian Aviation Strikes Friday April 21, 2017

Your flight could be delayed, cancelled or brought forward. This will involve flights the day before and after, so call your airline.

 

Italian Air Traffic Control Strike

Italian air traffic controllers will strike nationwide for 8 hours 10 am – 6pm. Call your airline

 

Airlines

Alitalia flight crews 10am to 6pm.

Alitalia Cityliner 10am – 6pm.

 

Meridiana Fly flight crew noon to 4pm, nationwide.

 

Italian EasyJet workers 10am – 6pm. (Easy jet likely to bring in air crews from other countries to cover, although air traffic control strike will be the kiss of death. Your flight will likely be cancelled.

 

Milan

Bus strike, check your travel plans, may only involve pen pushers, office workers.

 

Milan Malpensa Airport 10am – 2pm ground workers

 

Rome

Fiumicino Airport

Baggage handlers at Fiumicino Airport will strike for 8 hours 10am – 6pm. May or may not do baggage handling for your air carrier, call your airline.

 

Rome

Ciampino Airport

Ciampino Airport workers who operate the airport from Noon to 4pm.

 

Turin

Some baggage handlers will be on strike (Aviapartner) from 10am to 6pm.

 

Venice

Venice Marco Polo Airport

Baggage handlers 10am – 6pm again may or may not involve your airline, call them.

 

Padua

Air traffic controllers will be on strike from 10am – 6pm. Will have repurcussions around the network.

 

Random airport workers

Nationwide 10am – 6pm (who knows what that means, can’t be good)
