Five Reasons to Visit Saint Paul de Vence

France is full of hidden gems, one of which is Saint Paul de Vence, located in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur a region in Southern France.  While there are so many reasons to visit this swoon-worth destination, here are our top five:

 

  1. Foodie Frenzie - The Côte d'Azur is home to a total of 38 Michelin Starred restaurants.  For culinary enthusiasts, this area is where you can taste some of the best and most unique food in the entire world Even the small town of Saint Paul de Vence has fabulous restaurants to discover including La Table Pierre and Alain Llorca (1 Michelin Star).  Don’t forget to check out the town’s Annual Truffle Market in December.
  2. Rich in Art History - This small town is home to five art museums, countless art galleries and the final resting place for the infamous artist Marc Chagall.  The most popular of the museums is La Fondation Maeght sculpture museum which houses some of the biggest sculptures of our time.  It would take weeks to see all of the art in Saint Paul de Vence.
  3. Mountain Vistas - Mercantour National Park is the backdrop for Saint Paul de Vence and cannot be missed when visiting the region.  This 679 km2 park is dotted with tiny villages, archaeological sites, mountains, valleys and 600 km of hiking trails.  There is something there for every type of traveller.
  4. Wine Route - No trip to France is complete without a visit to wine country and the Côte d'Azur is the place for whites, reds and the very best rosés, while taking in the scenic mountain views all around.  The drive between Aix-Provence and Nice has a sprinkling of wineries to taste fabulous rosés like Fabre en Provence or Château des Bertrands.
  5. And of course, don’t forget to slow down and stroll through the town’s streets and enjoy the views and architecture around you.
